The Full Moon in Cancer on December 29, 2020 (at 22:27EST) is an enclave.
A moon to close the bones.
Take shelter. Find refuge. Hunker in.
Let there be stillness.
This Moon is a moment to remember and honor.
The past is never the past. It is part of us. It lives on through us as we are descendants of time.
2020 has been a year. We won’t fully forget the lives we lived before this change. Reminders will linger, showing up in the books we read and the stories we tell. Reminders tugging at the edges of our awareness until we release ourselves into them.
That was life. That is life. We won’t let it go. We’ll fold it into ourselves.
When we remember, we can preserve what is good. When we remember, we can heal what harms happened. When we remember, we can anchor wholeness.
It was almost one year ago, back in January 2020, that Saturn and Pluto conjoined in Capricorn and the radical decay of existing structures commenced.
We have all shapeshifted since then.
The astrological landscape of 2020 has been like a hard battle. A long hike. An arduous path towards an inevitable rebirth on a scale previously unimagined.
A mythic battle, such as the one between David and Goliath. One where the little guy overcame the giant with only a sling, 5 stones, the power of his will, and the purity of his heart.
This year where we made use of what we had, deciding who we would be and how we would wield our tools. This was a year that began to show us our real capabilities. When pushed to the limits, we are capable of so much more than we knew...
This year was like a thru-hike with limited supplies. Though resources were lean and dwindling, though conditions were rough, we made it to the end. And we learned a lot about ourselves and the reality of the world along the way...
This was a year to confront our mortality.
Death is a certainty.
Death is a transformation.
Death is an expansion.
Death is a doorway.
Death is something to grieve. Death is something to respect. And Death is something to Love.
It is said that we Die how we Live.
How does knowing all of the above change the way we live? How did your confrontation with your own mortality and that of others change how you live this year?
How do we want to care for, befriend, and honor Death? By natural extension, how do we want to care for and honor life?
Can we expand our meaning of death as a transformation, rather than an ending? What happens when we do this?
Death and Birth are One.
2020 was a long labor before a reBirth.
For some, Birth is an experience marked by pain, and ‘pain’ is the term commonly associated with Birth. But Birth is a transcendent experience of self-and-life-COMMUNION. It is a deep investigation into the nature of being. Birth is a sacred trance.
Birth is a Portal of Power.
Birth is the way to return us to ourselves. Our Origin. Our innate blueprint.
We are so much more than we yet know. All we need to do is Remember, and keep giving Birth to Life.
For the past year, we have been inside a collective psychosis.
Last time Saturn and Pluto met up in Capricorn was 1518, the year that another collective psychosis, a “Dancing Plague,” broke out in Strasbourg, France, where people literally danced themselves to death. The astrotwins dubbed it the first MPI - Mass Psychogenic Illness - recorded in history.
The phenomenon this year has felt to me much like the movement behind-the-veil that occurs for a pregnant mother just prior to Birth, but on a massive scale. During this time, perception and instinct heighten as experience is self-enhanced. It can be challenging to discern what is ‘real’ and what is illusory in this hypnotic state. Past wounds and traumas and deeply-rooted patterns are augmented alongside the compelling influence of innate stores of power and inner authority.
As Birth occurs, the family experiences a direct connection with the lineage of ancestors that birthed before them - and all the others Birthing as One Human Family simultaneously on the planet.
If humans have lived on Earth for 300,000 years, it is possible that’s a line comprised of over 10,000 generations. That’s 300,000 years of surviving and thriving in coexistence with Planet Earth.
In labor and Birth, it is often hard to know ‘what exactly happened’ until we retrospectively reflect on it. Writing or sharing the story and honestly recognizing the emotions involved is integral to moving forward in a good way.
Let this Cancer Full Moon be your Retrospective.
Recognize what you endured this year. Honor the challenges and the gifts. Bring it to a close with awareness, and the ending will become a new beginning.
Pay your respects.
In 2020, how did the structure of your life change?
In 2020, what tested you the most? What did you work hard on?
What fears, obstacles, pressures, and limitations did you face? Which did you overcome, and how did you overcome them?
2020 was a year to confront themes of control. Where did you realize a loss of control? Where did you gain more control? What did you discover about your relationship to authority (inner and outer)?
2020 was a year to recognize issues of power. Did you experience a sense of powerlessness? If so, what did that teach you? What was revealed about power in the world? What was revealed to you about your own power and the power of those you love? What would it feel like to be totally empowered?
What did you discover about your own capabilities?
What blessings has 2020 bestowed upon you?
Remembering and recognizing all of this, how do you feel? Let your emotions flow.
We made it to here, now. That in itself is a miracle.
December 21st 2020 brought the crowning moment in the birth of New Worlds as Jupiter and Saturn joined in Aquarius.
After Birth comes a time of sentient bonding. A time of healing and recovery. A time of slowing down the world and readjusting to life as it now is.
Under the light of this Full Moon, feel your feelings. Make home. Connect with family or kindreds to give and receive care.
Let yourself be held in a loving embrace.
Cozy in. Create a space of safety and belonging.
Welcome healing, nourishment, and support.
Rest and reflect for the journey ahead.

Aries: I am at home within myself.
In 2020, I shapeshifted to become more of who I really am. I proved that I have a place in this world, simply because I exist. I now know that true authority resides within. I structure my life around my own integrity as my core. This brings me more fulfillment than external status, career path, or accolades could never provide. I belong to myself. My life path is for me to determine and build. I respect my inner barometer of truth. I know the way from here. I recognize all the false beliefs I shed in 2020. I release outsourcing my own power. Taurus: I tell the truth.
In 2020, I’ve gained hard-earned insights. Under the light of this Full Moon, I honor my growing pains, and how they felt like restrictions at times until they began to open up. I respect the ways I’ve expanded further into my own honest and meaningful vision for life. What’s true to me is real. Where I place my faith becomes corporal, for whatever we put attention on grows. And so, I use discernment and intention to guide my attention. I am releasing old paradigms of restricted-growth and over-enmeshment with other people’s shadows. This Moon invites me into dialogue. I invite others to communicate their secrets openly. Using the power of my voice, I name limiting beliefs I’ve held in order to permanently shed them. Moving forward, I choose to live my life on my own terms. I claim my place and purpose in this world.

Gemini: I know my value.
In 2020, I dug deep. I faced skeletons in the closet, realizing things about my own shadow and psyche that had previously been hidden from view. I completed a 3 year-long process of total transformation. A death and rebirth. Now that this chapter is complete, I rise like a phoenix from the ashes. Ready to spread my wings and grow. Under the light of this Full Moon, I honor my healing. It was worth it, because I am worthy. I heal because I deserve to heal. I receive because I deserve to receive. I shed false paradigms of scarcity, knowing that the earth is abundant. I release parasitic entanglements with those who feed off my energy. I shed any remaining fears of intimacy. I claim my power. I claim my erotic magnetism. My essence is my own. Moving forward, I will continue to invest in what matters most. After a time of deep work, I am poised for growth.

Cancer: I wrap myself in a warm embrace.
In 2020, I set boundaries and restructured relationships. This Full Moon is a reminder of how much progress I have made with dismantling unsustainable relational patterns. It illuminates the development I’ve endured to establish relational commitments and partnerships that are anchored in mutual maturity and real care. I’m feeling myself. I trust my emotions as an extension of my intuition. I claim my needs, and in advocating for myself, I ensure that they are met. I release old stories and paradigms about living solely in service-to-others as a caregiver. I release cluttering my time and space with aimless busyness. I no longer entertain distractions, as I am ready to focus. I claim myself as my own teammate and supporter. Moving forward, I am ready to dive deeper. I step towards exploring the mysterious spiritual and emotional facets of my being.

Leo: I follow the flow of inspiration.
In 2020, I perfected my skills in being of-service. I showed up, again and again, on the daily. I healed. I resisted healing. Slowly but certainly, I improved. Or I felt the weight of all the improvements I wasn’t able to make. If nothing else, I kept going. I reworked my rhythms and reorganized my most habitual containers of time and energy. No small details escaped my awareness. Without a doubt, throughout the last year, some of my many efforts have made a tangible difference in the lives of others. Under the light of this Full Moon, I release being of service to others as the primary use of my time. There is a higher service calling me now, and it requests devotion to the spiritual energies that underpin all things. I claim myself as a spiritual conduit. I follow genuine inspiration. I claim my genius. In the year ahead, I commit to honest relationships that allow for mutual freedom.

In 2020, I learned to be true to myself, and I let my heart lead. I will never regret decisions made from the core of my being. This past year, I have made the choice to express myself with integrity and self-congruence. My joy can never be taken from me. I am committed to keep my light from dimming. Others can see that I live with heart. Under the light of the Full Moon, I reach towards those who see me and weave closer connections. We can each be our unique self and fully see each other. Radiant in our differences. Honorable in our truth. I now release any remaining fears of expressing myself. I shed anything that tries to inhibit my happiness. I claim myself as the master of my own joy. Moving forward, in 2021 I’ll be continuing to heal and hone my skills, working towards developing a lifestyle that allows me to fully utilize my talents. I trust that the right people will find me along the way.

Libra: I love where I’m at in life.
In 2020, I overcame insecurities. I showed up to family responsibilities. I restructured my home life. I confronted histories that left a mark, and I sank deeper into myself. The past 3 years has been a total realignment. I have excavated the roots of my life, torn up the foundation, and replaced it with a solid inner floor. After all of this work, no matter where I go or what I do, I belong to myself. Wherever I go, here I am. I trust that I am in the right place at the right time. I am exactly where I need to be. Under the light of this Full Moon, I release fears of being unsafe. I release impacts of the past that led to a lack of support. I claim that I am safe, sound, and totally supported. I claim that I am at home in my own life. I claim myself as a creator, able to give rise to the kind of life I love. Moving forward, I focus on my beloved heart’s desires.

Sagittarius: I sense my power.
In 2020, I took inventory of my resources. I checked my accounts, clarified my values, and restructured my income. Through identifying what really matters to me, I gained a solid sense of self-worth. While some of my pursuits collapsed and my choices felt limited, I prioritized the skills and talents that I can draw on for support in the future. I aligned with the integrity of what I value. Having firm, real principles will lead me to prosper! Under the light of this Full Moon, I completely release unworthiness. I let go of outdated stories of deprivation, scarcity, and lack. I claim my power. I claim my ability to magnetize and generate what I need. Everything is folded within us, hidden within our own inner depths. I draw from this well inside myself. Capricorn: I show care for the people in my life.
In 2020, I confronted and redefined myself. I shed an outworn shell of the person I expected myself to be. The clay of my body and being softened through wear. The fatigue and exhaustion I experienced caused me to drop away the elements of my being that I could no longer maintain. I discovered that tenderness is essential to my existence. This Moon is for extending that tenderness, that softness, that care - to myself and to my partners, lovers, and friends. Now that I know my own wisdom, I have confidence in the wisdom of others. I sense into who people are beneath their burdens. Under the light of this Full Moon, I release the heaviness and pressure that is not mine to hold. I claim my wisdom. I claim my maturity. I claim myself as the authority and the expert in my own life. When I recognize myself, I make space to recognize others as they truly are. In 2021, I will come to know how valuable and necessary I am.

Aquarius: I heal. Healing is innate.
In 2020, I let go. I surrendered. Over and over, I released what needed to be released. 2020 was a year of completion, closure, and transition. It was a time of rest, retreat, and spiritual communion. The fruits of all of this may still be invisible or formless, but they are sure-to-come, just as spring arrives following winter. My little winter is ending. I prepare for a personal rebirth. This Full Moon advises me to sense into the habits and rhythms of my life that will help me to purify and cleanse my body and spirit. I partake in practices and routines that feel healing. Under the light of this Full Moon, I release despair, grief, and anything unforgiven. I release the fear that I will not fully participate in my own life. I release any influences that have invalidated my spiritual life. I claim my healing. I prepare to step fully into my authentic self.

Pisces: I love my creative nature.
In 2020, I defined what community really is. Through a process of confrontation and elimination, I got clear on how I want to collaborate and who I can co-create with in sustainable ways. Not everyone is my people, and that’s a gift! I focus my attention and energy on future-making with folks who vibe at a frequency of authentic connection. This Full Moon shines its light on my creative self-expression. Who sees me? Who do I want to see more of? These are the ones I call into my sphere - the other artists I want to play with. Under the light of this Full Moon, I release fears of my own uniqueness. I release inhibitions that prevent me from feeling connected and whole-hearted in my love. I claim my gifts. I claim interdependence as divinely-given and innate. I claim my own private time and space in 2021 to dive deep into the spiritual realms that are calling me.
